pyrantel pamoate — 300 mg
praziquantel – 20 mg
Description
The gel is light yellow, homogeneous, odorless.
Pharmacological properties
Pyrantel pamoate is a pyrimidine derivative. Acts on roundworms (adults and 4th stage larvae) as a depolarizing muscle relaxant that causes neuromuscular blockade, causing death of nematodes.
Praziquantel is a quinoline derivative. Increases the permeability of cell membranes for calcium ions in cestodes and trematodes, which leads to generalized muscle contraction, paralysis of helminths and their death. Causes vacuolization and damage to the epithelium of parasites, as a result of which they become sensitive to enzymes of the gastrointestinal tract.
